I have started to hang skeletons around my desk. My favorite is a small one that is hanging by the neck.

T-Town

The picture below was taken 5 blocks away:

Never a dull moment in Tacompton. We heard the explosion that happened today at the Altas casting foundry. I live within 3 miles of the factory. Two fuel containers exploded at roughly 3 p.m. when a tanker truck was off-loading fuel, the tanker may have leaked and sparks from nearby welding may have ignited fumes, causing the explosions. The explosion was so intense that part of the tanker truck landed on SR 16.

737 Flight Sim update

The flight sim was awesome. I was in the sim with just the instructor so I really got the full monty. I got to set all the flight routes and power up the engines and do the take off thrust and then put it on autopilot for the flight from Boeing field to Moses Lake (our mock flight destination) Then the instructor helped me land. He then told me that I will be doing it all for the flight home but with no autopilot. I took off and flew the whole route from Moses Lake to Boeing Field Seattle, and man it was the E-ticket ride. What a rush.

737 Flight Sim

Me and 5 other ME's won the lottery in our Engineering group to go on a 737 flight simulator. I know it just isnt as cool as that E-ticket ride my little broham gets when launching off a carrier, but its way cool that I get the chance to go check out a 737 flight sim.

blueberry fields forever

Tacoma has a park called "Blueberry Park" its a a few acres of blueberry bushes and its run by the city of Tacoma Parks. You can pick whatever you want for free (at the taxpayers expense) anytime in the daylight hours. My sis and I went there this afternoon after we both got off work and not only did we get some mouth watering blueberrys we got in good sister time. When we walked back to the car we noticed just how big the blueberry park is. You know you get to picking and talking and you forget how far into the field you have migrated. Good thing they have trails or we would be lost! Anyways Renee.....it was great to spend some time with you, even if we were picking blueberrys! Im making a blueberry cobbler tomorrow night.

"600"

WOW I have had 600 views on my blogsite. I originally signed up with really no intention of posting as many blogs as I have, but only to communicate with my broham. I am wondering why I have more blog views than he does especially when he is serving in Iraq, and he has pretty cool stuff posted in his blogs. For those of you who read my blog and dont know my brother please cruise his site todaysnarmy and read all about what he is doing in Iraq. In the mean time, it seems what I have to say must be interesting. There is an update on my P-8A post.

sick!

My son gave me his crud, when we were sitting at the DOL waiting to schedule the twins drive test. That was Thursday, and I thought I escaped the sickness, but NOOOOOO! I started to feel horrible yesterday and today I was down for the count. I guess I must have looked bad because when I got to work my boss told me to just go home. Hey you dont have to tell me twice! I got home and throughout the day I got progressively worse. I am thinking I will go to the dr tomorrow because I havent been this sick in a long time, thanks boy!

Mother/Daughter

Today was a great day for a mother/daughter shopping trip. I took Ash out to lunch then shopping for for work clothes and we ended up shopping for maternity clothes! I just love the times I get to go out with one of my daughters. They are each so different in every way when they spend time with me. Ash is in the beginning of motherhood and she is just absolutely beautiful and glowing. Awesome "bonding" time today Ashley!

Buzzsaw

The guys on 1st shift got together and subscribed to Sirius radio. Its a great heavy metal program and when its on everyone can pick up the channel. Either someone is now on 2nd shift or they forget to turn it off at the end of their shift, and we get to listen to Buzzsaw all night long. Satilite radio ROCKS! No comercials, no stupid DJ, just music. Anyway we've been rocking out for the last 3 nights thanks to day shift!

"Unplugged"

So...I was flipping thru channels late last night and I dont ususally watch CMT because I cant stomach country music, but something caught my attention. It was "Bon Jovi Unplugged" If you get the chance to catch the full 90 minute version on CMT do so it is worth watching. Its an amazing acoustic set. All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter, and bandmate Nick Wheeler joined Bon Jovi for a stripped version of "It's My Life." Very Cool. LeAnn Rimes performed "'Til We're Not Strangers Anymore" with the band. Bon Jovi covered the song "Hallelujah" and it was powerful. For this rocker who HATES country music Im glad I questioned... what on earth is Bon Jovi doing on CMT ....long enough get "unplugged"

The Pit

Every nite we do a blow down of the area we work in. I do one side of the wing and the kid that works by me does the other side of the wing and we blow down in tandum. We use high pressure air nozzles to blow all the metal chips and debris down to the pit which is an area that supports the tooling jig between the first and second floor. Each tooling jig for a wing is 3 stories tall and I work on the 2nd story. There are 16 tooling jigs in Wing Majors so if you think about it there are 16 wings in my area but when you remember that 2 wings per airplane then there are 8 aircraft wings being made, right and left hand pairs. I start at one end of the area and by the end of the week I am at the other end of the area, so everyday I am on a different tooling jig. This week was the first time I got down into the pit to blow the pit out onto the main floor so the sweepers can sweep it all up.(Ive been letting the kid get down there!) I really didnt want to EVER get down in the pit, but we have to do it to get it cleaned out. I think I earned some more respect from the guys because not many women get in the pit. The entrance to the pit has moving platforms that move up or down so that the mechanics can work that area of the wing. If you are down there and someone moves that platform it isnt good. I was a little scared at first but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and now I have a new stripe!

throwin bolts

I got the ultimate acceptance today. The kid that works next to me threw a bolt at me, I instantly knew it was him because he was laughing. Its tough working in a mans world, there are so many girly women who cant do the job, so I always have to prove that I can hold my own. When the guys see that you can handle drilling and riveting and arent a whiner about it then they accept you. Having a bolt chucked at you is a good thing.

Choppers

I almost fell asleep in the dentist chair this morning, while he was cleaning my teeth with that sonic cleaner that has a high pitch shrill! About a month ago my new composite filling came out, so I had the dentist appointment to get it replaced today FINALLY! I am so glad I dont have the family heritage of the hillbilly toothless smile haha. Almost all of my fillings are composite except the 2 metal fillings that I had done in my twenties, and I want to have them redone in composites. I am working on whitening my teeth with the trays and solution that was like almost 300 bucks extra that the insurance didnt cover but hey its money well spent! Thank God I have enough sence to take care of my teeth!
